FACE COVERINGS ARE PHASE TWO OF HOW WE HELP OUR COMMUNITIES
A message from Ashleigh Linsdell, Founder and Director of ‘For the Love of Scrubs’
My name is Ashleigh , the nurse and founder who started the national campaign For The Love Of Scrubs LTD (FTLOS). We are an amazing network and community of volunteers, at our peak of over 68,000 sewers, fundraisers and other volunteers nationwide during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have created in excess a whopping 500,000 sets of scrubs, among other items such as head bands, ear savers, companion hearts, scrub bags and more for our front line workers within the NHS and other healthcare sectors nationwide struggling with the effects of Covid.
We are almost at the point of completing our phase one – whereby we have created enough scrubs for the huge demand, and picked up the shortfall of our government and NHS. We have been relied upon heavily and have managed to fulfil every single request we have received; using over £1000000 (one million) worth of material to do this. This has been fundraised and donated for new materials to be purchased, or donated from large companies, and bedding donated by our communities. It has been incredible.
We have now moved onto phase two, with the help of to protect our communities with face coverings alongside the government mandate to wear face coverings in shops, public transport and well, everywhere. We once again, are calling out for donations of material and monetary donations – we already have active sewers desperate to continue helping to support this cause as FTLOS is about so much more than just a sewing community. We have given people hope, pride, something to work for, passion, commitment and friendship. I personally have made some amazing friends throughout this process and I am proud of each and every person who has committed anything to this worthy cause.
We have a continued need within our society, and for this reason we are still asking for the very appreciated help we can receive from our communities. Small and large amounts, we thank you.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you; everyone, for I could not have done this without you all.
From the nurse who started something small, and you all made it huge.

PARTNERED WITH HELPMYSTREET & KINDRED
A website that makes it safe and simple to help your community
In order to support our Face Coverings campaign we have partnered with http://www.HelpMyStreet.org/for-the-love-of-scrubs.
They are a non-profit organisation who have built a safe platform for neighbours to help neighbours.
Volunteers start by signing up and registering on the website. It is important that people are who they say they are, so there is an ID check that takes about 5-10 minutes.
Then when people in your community ask for help, in this case requesting a face covering, you will be alerted. You can then accept the request, deliver the face covering and mark it as done when complete.
This helps to make sure requests don't get lost in social media and it also means we can organise the supply of materials to the right sewing groups and individuals.
We are also partnered with http://kindred.com through our platform made by them http://www.bekindbescrubs.com of whom are fundraising for us by providing personalised items as FTLOS official merchandise!

WE NEED DONATIONS TO KEEP THIS AMAZING WORK GOING
Please donate and thank-you for your generosity
Our amazing sewers are willing to give up their time to make these face coverings (taking from 10 minutes to 30 minutes per mask).
We ask that, if you are able, you make a donation that at least covers the cost of the materials (approximately £3 per covering).
If you are able to donate more, then your kindness will buy vital materials to enable us to create more face coverings to give to those unable to pay, some of the most vulnerable individuals and groups in our communities.
